Doet iedereen erkennen deze Motor. Mercedes zegt het Deutz is, zegt Deutz het VM enz. is.
Does anyone recognise this engine, it is covered in Mercedes emblems and is a V4 aircooled, all aluminium construction. Mercedes say they never built anything like this.

This engine was used as a standbye generator in a Rolls Royce factory in Scotland. Believed to have been installed in 1978.
All components on the engine are of German origin.
The engine has a number of test ports for measuring air flow and combustion pressure, making me think it is a prototype.
The engine in Holland is very similar but appears of older design with different covers over the valves.
Daimler have a number of patents listed for air cooled engines from 1958 upto 1970.
Mercedes have been of no help to me or the owner in Holland.
